Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated 4 July 2026
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and legally able to enter a contract to use the Services. By using Kaki you confirm you meet these requirements. The Services are intended for use in Indonesia and where lawfully available.
Children’s classes. Some venues run mahjong classes for children. A child does not get a Kaki account and cannot use the app. A parent or guardian signs the child up and books on their behalf, and is responsible for that booking and for the details they give us — see section 8 of our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
- You create an account using an email one-time code, or Google or Apple sign-in. Venue and host accounts sign in with an email address and password. You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
- Bookings made without signing in. If you book on the website without an account, we create an account record from the name and email you give us so your booking, confirmation, and check-in code have somewhere to live. These Terms apply to that record too.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Tell us promptly at support@kakiapp.co if you suspect unauthorised use.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate others or use another person’s account without permission.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or use the Services for unlawful gambling.
- Harass, threaten, defraud, or harm other users, venues, or hosts.
- Post content that is illegal, hateful, obscene, infringing, or that you have no right to share.
- Interfere with, reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services.
- Misuse bookings or tournaments — for example fake reservations, no-show abuse, or manipulating results.
4. User content & community
Community features — clubs, friends, open-seat posts, and chat — let you create and share content. You keep ownership of your content and grant Kaki a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and distribute it as needed to operate the Services. You are responsible for what you post, and it must follow our Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms.
4.1 Zero tolerance for objectionable content
By using Kaki’s community features you agree that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not post, send, or share content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, or that sexualises or endangers a child, and you must not use Kaki to abuse, stalk, or defraud another person. Breaking this rule can cost you your account immediately and without refund.
4.2 Reporting, blocking, and how fast we act
- Report. In the Kaki app, hold any message in a conversation and choose Report. You can also email support@kakiapp.co with details and screenshots — use that route if you are on the website.
- Block. In the Kaki app, hold a message from someone you do not want to hear from and choose Block. A block works in both directions and across the whole app: once it is in place, neither of you sees the other’s messages.
- We act within 24 hours. We review reports of objectionable content and abusive users and act on them within 24 hours of receiving them — removing the content, and ejecting the user where the report is well founded.
- We do not pre-screen. Messages and images are not reviewed or filtered before they are sent. Moderation happens when content is reported, or when a club or event admin acts in their own room.
We may remove content, limit features, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts that break these Terms or the Guidelines, and we may report unlawful activity to the authorities.
5. Bookings & cancellations
- When you book a table or seat, you enter into an arrangement with the venue or host. Kaki provides the booking platform; the venue is responsible for the table, service, and house rules.
- Cancellation windows, deposits, and no-show policies are set by the venue or the tournament organiser and shown at the time of booking. Please read them before confirming.
- Cancelling. You can cancel from the booking in the app. If you cancel inside the venue’s or organiser’s stated cancellation window, the booking fee or entry fee may be non-refundable in whole or in part, and any deposit may be retained. Outside that window, refunds follow section 6.
- No-shows. If you do not arrive for a booked table, seat, or tournament, the venue or organiser may treat it as a no-show and keep the fee or deposit in full.
- Cancellation by the venue or organiser. If a table, session, or tournament is cancelled or materially changed by the venue or organiser, you are entitled to a refund of the amount you paid for it, processed as described in section 6.
- Repeated no-shows or cancellation abuse may lead to limits on your account, including losing the ability to book.
6. Payments
Kaki uses two separate payment rails, and which one applies depends on what you are buying. Read the rail that matches your purchase — the refund, cancellation, and dispute rules genuinely differ between them.
- Real-world services — booking a table, booking a venue, joining a table, and entry to in-person offline tournaments — are paid through our third-party payment gateway, Pivot (QRIS, e-wallet, and card). These are services you consume physically at a venue in Indonesia, so they are not sold as in-app purchases.
- Digital subscriptions — premium tournament-organiser accounts and premium coach accounts — are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
6.1 Real-world services (Pivot / QRIS)
- Booking fees, deposits, table and venue bookings, in-person tournament entry, in-venue purchases, coach lessons, and classes are processed by Pivot.
- Card and payment-instrument credentials are handled by Pivot. Kaki does not store your card data.
- Prices are shown before you pay and may include taxes and fees. The amount you see at confirmation is the amount charged.
- You are paying for a service delivered at a physical venue. If the venue or organiser does not deliver it, see the refund rules in 6.4.
6.2 Platform fee
For venue revenue collected through Kaki — app table bookings and in-venue point-of-sale — Kaki retains a platform fee of 5% of the gross amount, and the remaining 95% is owed to the venue. The fee is deducted at source from the payment Kaki collects; it is not added on top of the price you are shown, so it does not change what you pay. The platform fee does not apply to Kaki subscription revenue or to coach lesson revenue. Venues and organisers can see the gross amount, the platform fee, and the net amount for every transaction in their Kaki for Hosts finance view.
6.3 Auto-renewing digital subscriptions (organiser & coach)
Kaki offers optional paid tiers — Pro, the premium tournament-organiser account, and Coach, the premium coach account — as auto-renewing subscriptions sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play and managed via our subscription provider, RevenueCat. These tiers unlock digital features inside the app (such as organiser and coach tooling); they are not payment for any in-person service. By subscribing you agree to the following:
- Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription name, current price, and billing period are shown in the app before you confirm.
- The subscription automatically renews for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Purchases can be restored with the in-app “Restore purchases” option.
- If a subscription lapses or is cancelled, the premium organiser or coach features stop at the end of the paid period. Events, bookings, and community content you already created remain, but premium tooling becomes unavailable.
6.4 Refunds — different rules per rail
Who refunds you depends on how you paid. Kaki cannot refund a store purchase, and the stores cannot refund a QRIS payment.
- Real-world services paid via Pivot (QRIS) — handled by Kaki. Refunds follow the venue’s or organiser’s stated policy (section 5) and applicable law, and are returned through the original payment method. You are entitled to a refund where the venue or organiser cancels, or where the service is not provided. Request one from the booking in the app or by emailing support@kakiapp.co. We aim to respond within 7 days and to return approved refunds within 14 days of approval; your bank or e-wallet may take longer to post it.
- Digital subscriptions bought in the app — handled by Apple or Google. Kaki does not receive your payment directly and cannot issue refunds for store purchases. Request a refund from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or from Google Play support, under their refund policies. Except where required by law or store policy, subscription fees are non-refundable for the current period. If a store grants a refund, we may revoke the corresponding premium access.
6.5 Chargebacks & disputes
- Talk to us first. For anything paid through Pivot, raise it with support@kakiapp.co before filing a chargeback — most booking and tournament disputes are faster to resolve directly, and we can contact the venue or organiser on your behalf.
- If you file a chargeback or payment dispute, we may need to share transaction records (booking reference, amount, timestamps, and the venue or organiser involved) with Pivot, the card scheme, or your bank to respond to it.
- While a dispute is open we may suspend the related booking, entry, or premium access. We may also suspend or limit accounts with repeated chargebacks we consider abusive, and recover amounts owed.
- For store purchases, the dispute process is Apple’s or Google’s. Contact them directly; we will help with evidence where we can, but the decision is theirs.
7. Tournaments
Tournaments listed on Kaki are in-person eventsplayed at physical venues; the app is used to find, register for, and pay for them, not to play. They may be run by Kaki, venues, or community organisers. Each tournament has its own rules, entry requirements, schedule, and prizes, shown at registration. Organisers are responsible for running their events fairly and for any prizes offered. You agree to follow the applicable ruleset and organiser decisions. Entry fees are paid through the Pivot rail and are subject to the payment, refund, and cancellation terms above and the organiser’s stated policy.
8. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that venues, hosts, or organisers will perform as expected. Kaki is not a party to disputes between users, or between users and venues, hosts, or organisers.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kaki and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Services. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to Kaki for the relevant transaction in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indonesian law.
10. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time (see Account & Data Deletion). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or to protect users or the Services. Some provisions — including payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — survive termination.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Indonesia, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
