Account & Data Deletion
Last updated 4 July 2026
Delete in the app (recommended)
Deleting from inside the app is instant and self-service:
- Open the Kaki app and make sure you are signed in.
- Go to Settings and scroll to Delete account.
- Tap it once to open the confirmation, then tap Yes, permanently delete my account.
Your account is closed immediately, your session is revoked, and your data is deleted as described below.
Request deletion by email
If you can’t access the app — including if your only Kaki record came from booking on the website without signing up — email support@kakiapp.co from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. Please include:
- The email address (or Google / Apple sign-in) on your account.
- Your display name in the app, if you have one.
- Any detail that helps us verify it’s really you.
We may ask a verification question before deleting, to protect your account. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
Use the same address to ask us to delete a venue or event sign-up form(the short name-and- WhatsApp form at a booth, class, or pop-up). Those entries are not attached to a Kaki account, so deleting an account does not remove them — tell us the name and number you gave and we will delete the entry. A parent or guardian can use this route for a child’s entry.
What is deleted vs. retained
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Account & profile | Deleted — email, name, username, profile image, phone number, and your sign-up answers are removed, along with any pending one-time-code record held against your phone number. |
| Community content | Your club memberships, friendships, and open-seat posts are deleted. Messages you already sent stay in other people's conversations, but without your name attached to them. |
| Photos you sent in chat | The image files themselves stay in our image storage and remain reachable to anyone who already has the link. Ask us by email if you need a specific image removed. |
| Bookings, tournament entries & payment records | Deleted along with your account, including your booking history and the record of what you paid Kaki. If you may need proof of a past booking or payment, save your confirmation emails before you delete. |
| Records held by our payment gateway | Pivot, our payment gateway, keeps its own transaction records under its own rules and retention periods. Deleting your Kaki account does not erase those, and it does not cancel or refund anything. |
| Reports you filed or that named you | Reports you filed are deleted with your account. Where you were the person reported, the report stays open for the moderation team but stops pointing at an account. |
| Venue & event sign-up forms (leads) | NOT deleted automatically — these are not linked to a Kaki account. Email us to have one removed (see above). |
| Push notifications | Your device push token is deleted, so notifications stop. |
| Backups | Our database provider keeps point-in-time backups for a limited window, so a residual copy can persist there for a short period after deletion before ageing out. |
Good to know
- Deletion is permanentand cannot be undone — you can’t recover your history, clubs, or bookings afterwards.
- Settle or cancel any active bookings or tournament entries before deleting. Deleting your account does not cancel a booking with the venue, does not refund anything, and leaves you without the record.
- Deleting your Kaki account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel that in your store account settings.
- Where the law requires us to keep certain records, we keep only the minimum for the required period and then delete them.
For how we handle your data generally, see our Privacy Policy. Questions? Email support@kakiapp.co.
